Humor vítreo

A chess game woven entirely out of human hair I collected as I investigated memorial and mourning pieces found in historical Argentine museums. Over 50 subjects exchanged their locks with me in trade for an original drawing.

The installation was exhibited in San Cristobal, a neighbourhood where chess tournaments amongst retired porteños occur daily. During a whole month, I received visitors every afternoon to play chess and share my research on hair prostheses, humour theory and hauntology.

Sortilegio para cicatrices

Sortilegio para cicatrices is a work in constant process, since it is made up of scraps of discarded paintings, belonging mainly to my years of study.

In the images you can see the front and back of the first finished piece of the series, which consists of 108 fragments of oil paintings on canvas.
